This prayer room opened from scratch on 1 November 2020 and there has been prayer here every day since:
The video below – ‘Why Pray?’ – explains a little about why we’ve set up this ’24-7′ virtual prayer room.

Bible and Prayer Apps
I have used all of the prayer and Bible study apps listed below and would recommend them for different people. Don’t try and use them all at once but choose a couple and then switch if you don’t like them.
Both Christ Church and St George’s have a private prayer group on this app for members launched on 1 November 2020. There is also a shared feed for both churches. Contact Dan for more details.
Organise your prayer life with this straightforward and distraction-free app.
Every day, Prayer Mate will select a person or topic that you’ve entered from each of your main categories (perhaps “My family” or “My small group at church”) and show them to you as a series of index cards – then just swipe between them to pray.
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges for the person of faith, and yet most of us wish we were better at it. Now when you say to someone “I’ll pray for you!” you can make sure you follow it up.
- Intuitive index card interface lets you swipe between the day’s topics
- Set up your own personal categories and subjects to suit the way you pray
- Subscribe to online prayer diaries, with content from organisations such as London City Mission, Open Doors, UCCF The Christian Unions, Church Society and numerous local churches (including your own if you like!)
- Get the Church of England Collect for the Day automatically
- Operation World country for the day feed
- Attach photos and PDFs to prayer points
- Optional daily alarm clock to remind you to pray
- Schedule cards by date or day of the week/month, or just let PrayerMate pick for you
- Attach photos to subjects
- Backup and restore via Dropbox (compatible with iOS version)
- Downloadable prayer gallery
Inner Room is an app from 24-7 Prayer that turns one of our biggest distractions – our mobile phones – into a portable prayer tool. Jesus said, “When you pray, go into your inner room…” (Matt 6:6). Inner Room is a prayer list app that equips, enables and inspires you to pray, each day.
Written by leaders from the 24-7 Prayer movement, and produced in partnership with CWR. this resource helps you engage with Scripture to inspire prayer and shape your life.
Lectio 365 is inspired by Lectio Divinia, a way of meditating on the Bible that’s been used by Christians for centuries. Each day, Pause to be still. Rejoice with a Psalm and Reflect on Scripture. Ask for God’s help, and Yield to His will in your life.
Each week focuses on one of 24-7 Prayer’s core values – six practices that help us live like Jesus – prayer, mission, justice, creativity, hospitality and learning. We’ll focus on seasons like Advent and Lent with special guest writers from around the world.
Pray As You Go is a daily prayer session, designed to go with you wherever you go, to help you pray whenever you find time, but particularly whilst travelling to and from work, study, etc.
A new prayer session is produced every day of the working week and one session for the weekend. It is not a ‘Thought for the Day’, a sermon or a bible-study, but rather a framework for your own prayer.
Lasting between ten and thirteen minutes, it combines music, scripture and some questions for reflection.
Our aim is to help you to:
- become more aware of God’s presence in your life
- listen to and reflect on God’s word
- grow in your relationship with God
The style of prayer is based on Ignatian Spirituality. It is produced by Jesuit Media Initiatives, with material written by a number of Jesuits, both in Britain and further afield, and other experts in the spirituality of St Ignatius of Loyola. Although the content is different every day, it keeps to the same basic format.
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer; rather it casts a new light and depth of meaning on them. Centering Prayer is an ancient method of Christian prayer adapted for modern times by Fathers Thomas Keating, William Meninger and Basil Pennington.
The Centering Prayer application will support your daily prayer practice commitment. Beautiful and peaceful, the app includes an adjustable timer, as well as opening and closing prayer options that you may read before and after your silent prayer time. An assortment of sounds and backgrounds allow you to choose the type of environment you want to create for your prayer time. Brief instructions for learning Centering Prayer are also included.
It is recommended you practice being in relationship with God through Centering Prayer twice a day for 20 minutes to begin with.
We believe that prayer is a powerful and effective way for us to connect with God. Echo Prayer is a free app that helps you keep track of your prayers, reminds you to pray throughout the day, and lets you share prayer requests with others.
Start your day with the Bible in One Year, a free Bible reading app with commentary by Nicky and Pippa Gumbel. Nicky Gumbel is the Vicar of HTB in London and pioneer of Alpha.
New Daylight offers daily Bible reading and reflection for everybody who wants to go deeper with God. It is ideal for those looking for a fresh approach to regular Bible study, and offers a talented team of contributors who present a Bible passage (text included), helpful comment and a prayer or thought for the day ahead. This app can be opened every day to get that day’s reading and reflection.
Guidelines lets you take your Bible study with you wherever you go. The week-by-week structure inspires thought, prayer and action and supports both daily and intense bursts of reading and reflection.
These notes go into further detail than the NewDaylight studies and are ideal for those wishing to study the Bible in greater depth.
