Welcome!

Thank you for looking at our website. We are two churches in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, working together to support the areas of Tyler’s Hill (St George’s) and Waterside (Christ Church). Everyone is welcome to share in our faith community which forms part of the wider Christian ministry of the Parish of Great Chesham.

Belief in God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit is at the heart of our faith. Christians believe that Jesus is God’s Son. Jesus reveals to us that God is our Father, and that God is available to us through the Holy Spirit.

Church of England: What We Believe

You can find out more about what it means to live as a Christian by watching four videos created for Real Lives Chesham and originally shared by our local churches in October 2020. Watch them here.

If you would like to read a more in depth introduction explaining what Christians believe, The Pilgrim Way, by the Church of England is a good place to start. You can also view our weekly online service at any time by clicking the YouTube video on our homepage. Our other events and services – both live and virtual – can be found by clicking here. (Unless otherwise stated there is no need to book, just turn up as you are.)

Simon, our Team Vicar for both churches would be pleased to have an informal chat with anyone about any faith or personal matters, either virtually or in person. You can contact him here: vicar@stgeorgesandchrist.church

If you would like to know more about what we believe or how you can visit a church meeting, whilst most activities are still online, please do get in touch. We are open to all and membership is free (although we do encourage regular members to give in support of our activities if they are able). Our focus is on sharing the good news of Jesus and living this out daily in our community, fellowship and families by supporting each others needs. Being a Christian is therefore not so much about attending a service once a week but cultivating and nurturing an ever developing relationship.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Bible: Romans 8:38-39

No one is too good for God, but equally no one is too bad. Nothing you can do or have done can separate you from the love of God if you ask. We wish you well on your journey where ever it will take you and pray that you find peace and happiness.
